Gone Today, Remembered Tomorrow

majortomsadrunky:

Today in history one of the greatest people in music was born, Joey Ramone. I love you so much Joey, I don’t think you will ever know how much you mean to me and how much you’ve changed music. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you, even though you are gone you will always be in our hearts and in our minds. All I wan’t to say is Thank You for everything Joey and happy birthday.

On May 19th, 1951, New York gave a gift for those ones with locked souls: the birth of someone special. Someone different and unique, which had the destiny to liberate those souls. Someone that grew up in Forest Hills, with doctors always making negative predictions about his future. Someone that, although all that negativism, was saved by music, and saved a lot of people with it too. Someone that opened new paths in the rock scene and showed that there are no limits when talking about music. That one, despite all obstacles, remained strong until the end. He was always sick, but what’s flu compared with a broken heart? Everybody doubted that he could be someone, and today it’s inevitable to not think about him when talking about leather jackets, round glasses and ripped jeans, covering long legs. His legacy lasts until today, like his fandom. If there is something that us, the fans, would say it would be thanks. Thanks for being strong. Thanks for never giving up on us. And thanks for being that wonderful person, ensuring a place forever in our hearts. Happy birthday, Joey Ramone!
